About
Tân'si, my name is Lisa Berry and I take immense pride in my rich heritage and culture. I spent my childhood growing up on Treaty 8 Territory located in Alberta. Currently, I reside on Stò:lō Territory in Hope, British Columbia, where I am proudly associated with Métis Nation British Columbia. My Métis family names are Flett, Lizzotte, and Carifelle, and I hold my ancestry in the highest regard.
My passion lies in expressing my creativity through various mediums. As an Indigenous Liaison for my school district, I am committed to promoting cultural awareness and education for everyone at my school. I believe that it is essential to preserve and showcase our roots and heritage to the world. I spend my leisure hours designing unique art pieces using my iPad, which I market through my business, Floral Feather Illustrations.
My journey has been full of challenges, but my determination to pass on my legacy of history and art to my children has kept me going. I am proud to have self-published three colouring books, and it been an honour to create designs for Métis Nation British Columbia.
I am grateful for the opportunity to immerse myself in the rich and captivating world of Métis culture. It has opened my eyes to the beauty and depth of a culture that deserves to be celebrated and shared with others. I believe that by spreading awareness of our traditions and heritage, we can create a better tomorrow for generations to come.
